Delbert (Dad) was born in Rupert, Idaho the middle of 13 children. He was raised on a farm, living the life of a country boy. Dad met his sweetheart, Pamala Roy, in high school; they dated and later were married. After high school he was drafted to the Vietnam War and stationed in North Carolina. After the war he and Pam spent 10 years in Rupert starting their family. Later they moved and made a home in Sugar City, Idaho where they raised their seven children. Dad has worked as a mechanic for Erickson Pontiac, GMC for the past 30 years. He has been a strong member in his faith and community. He is the best dad and a fantastic grandpa! We are grateful to have him in our lives.
In January 2011 Dad was diagnosed with Stage 2 prostate cancer. After multiple doctor visits, the decision was made to use radiation treatments to aggressively attack the cancer. Treatment will begin in March. Treatment of any illness is expensive and as his children we want to help out in any way that we can.
Someone once said it is hard when Superman falls, how true it is! Dad has always been the one to pick up all the pieces and make big situations small. So when we found out that he had cancer we knew it was now our turn to pick up the pieces!
Married to his high school sweetheart for 39 years, the dad of seven children, and a grandfather of fifteen he is a man with a lot to live for!
